Dog Parks and Dog-friendly Parks

Sarasota County offers two types of areas where you and your dog can walk and play. They are categorized as either “Dog Parks” or “Dog-friendly Parks.”

Dog Parks: Dogs can exercise and play off leash in a controlled environment. Dog Parks offer separate fenced areas for small and large dogs, benches for dog owner's, shade, parking, and drinking fountains for both dogs and owners.

Dog Friendly Parks: Dogs are welcomed in designated areas of the park and must be leashed at all times (Max 6 Foot Leash). To determine if a park is dog friendly, please visit our website at: Dog Parks and Dog-friendly Parks.

Water Bowls: The County does not place water bowls out at locations. Citizens are welcome to leave a bowl. If the bowl is in good condition, then Parks Maintenance crew will leave the bowl on site.
