Breeze Plus | Veterans Medical Transportation Program
The Veterans Medical program provides transportation to the Bay Pines VA Healthcare System and the James A. Haley Veterans’ Hospital.
Pickups are made between 6:25 a.m. and 7:50 a.m., Monday through Friday.
Veterans must call the Breeze Plus office at 941-861-1018 to register with the program.
Plan:
Schedule appointments at Bay Pines to start no earlier than 10 a.m. and to finish by 2:30 p.m. Schedule appointments at James A. Haley to start no earlier than 10:30 a.m. and to finish by 2 p.m.
Call 941-777-6000 to reserve a ride to your appointment.
- Reservations must be made no later than the day prior to a ride.
- Reservations can be made as early as 14 days prior to a ride.
- Reservations are accepted every day of the week between 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Be prepared to identify your pickup/drop-off location.

- Nokomis Village Publix, 6:40 a.m.
- Westfield Sarasota Square Mall – JC Penney, 6:50 a.m.
- Sarasota Pavilion, Breeze Station, 7 a.m.
- Sarasota County Veterans Services, 7:20 a.m.
- Betty J. Johnson North Sarasota Library, 7:50 a.m.
- Veterans who are unable to reach a pickup location may be eligible for the Breeze Plus TD program.
Pay:
Pay cash fare to the driver. Fare varies by pickup location.

Call Veterans Services at 941-861-2899 to discuss financial assistance for fare payments. Personal Care Attendants may accompany Breeze Plus passengers at no charge. Guests may accompany Breeze Plus passengers for the listed fare.
Ride:
At the rider’s request, drivers may assist with:
- Entering or exiting the vehicle.
- Fastening seat belts.
- Loading or unloading light cargo.
