Trip Planning (Hours, Routes, and Schedules)

  • Breeze OnDemand service is available Monday through Saturday 5 a.m.-10 p.m. and Sunday 6 a.m.-9 p.m. Riders under age 13 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.
  • Breeze OnDemand service is 365 days a year (including holidays).
  • Breeze OnDemand is offered in four zones: 1. Lido Key/Longboat Key, 2. Siesta Key, 3. Venice/Englewood, and 4. North Port.
    • Breeze OnDemand zone maps are available at: Breeze OnDemand.
    • Breeze OnDemand trips must start and stop within the same zone.
    • The fixed route bus system (or paratransit service, if eligible) may be used to access areas outside a Breeze OnDemand zone.
  • Request a curb-to-curb ride online through the Breeze OnDemand mobile app or by calling (941) 300-1553.
    • Download the Breeze OnDemand app from the Google Play or Apple Store and create your account. If you will be using a wheelchair, tap your profile icon and toggle the Wheelchair setting to “on.”
    • Request a trip for yourself and up to three other passengers.
    • Select the desired ride and meet the driver at the curb of the pickup address.
  • Once a request is submitted, the destination cannot be changed. To change the destination, the original request must be cancelled, and a new request submitted.

    The Bus Route layer contains year-round and seasonal bus and transit routes throughout Sarasota County.

    The Mobility on Demand or MOD layer shows areas where Sarasota County Area Transit transports residents by demand.

Pricing and Payment

 Single passenger base fare for the first 3 miles

 Additional fare per mile at 3.01, 4.01, and 5.01 miles

 Total fare capped for trips 5.01 miles or greater

 $6.00 

 Transportation Disadvantaged Program flat rate

 $1.50

 Flat fare for each companion passenger, up to 4 per booking 

 (1 primary rider + 3 companion Passengers)

 $1.00

 Children aged 5 and under with a paying adult

 Free

Bus passes cannot be used as payment for Breeze OnDemand rides.

Payment Options:

  • Use a credit card to pay through the Breeze OnDemand app, online account or over the phone.
  • Use cash to pay the driver directly; drivers will not make change.

Breeze OnDemand Transportation Disadvantaged (TD) Fares:

Riders who are unable to transport themselves and who do not have the funds or financial assistance to purchase transportation, are eligible for Transportation Disadvantaged (TD) service if they:

  • Have an ADA-qualified physical or mental disability or
  • Are age 65 or older or
  • Have an annual household income at 150% or less of the federal poverty level.

Individuals may apply for TD status by submitting a completed TD Application to the Mobility Coordinator.

Breeze OnDemand rides can be prepaid/gifted on an agency or individual account. Contact breeze@scgov.net to make arrangements.

Free Rider Programs

Free Rider Programs:

  • Ages 5 and under.
  • Organizations may partner with the Breeze OnDemand service provider to arrange pre-payments and discount codes.

Vehicle/Service Features

  • Minivan body style.
  • Wheelchair accessible: WAV (Wheelchair Accessible Vehicles) are available. When you book your ride in the Breeze OnDemand app, tap your profile icon, and toggle the Wheelchair setting to “on.”
    • Wheelchair and other riders using mobility devices will enter from the back of the van.
    • Wheelchairs and mobility devices must be secured to the vehicle.
  • Breeze OnDemand is a rideshare service. This means other passengers traveling a similar route may be picked up or dropped as part of your trip.

Passenger Rules

Personal Belongings:

  • Breeze OnDemand vehicles are a shared space, and as such we ask everyone to limit any personal items to a single piece of luggage or a reasonably sized bag.
  • Licensed service animals are welcome to ride in Breeze OnDemand vehicles without restrictions. Other dogs and cats must be in an airline-approved carrier and be able to be carried on the rider’s lap.

Behavior:

  • Smoking of any kind is prohibited, including e-cigarettes, vaporizers, or smokeless cigarettes.
  • Avoid bringing food and drink into vehicles. Smelly food can be distracting and unpleasant for your fellow passengers. Drinking alcohol and carrying open containers of alcohol in our vehicles are not allowed.
  • Limit phone calls to quick logistics and emergencies during shared rides.
